why does the story skip at chapter 8? can this be corrected so we can read the entire story?

I was mostly enjoying the story but chapter 68 seemed to skip ahead years while leaving details out and it disconnected me from the story, so I stopped. It was already slightly confusing with a lot of the dialog missing or deleted and trying to figure out who was supposed to be speaking.
